Verdell Pirmeaux is from the Oglala/Yankton Sioux and Ponca tribes. His mother, Delores Arapahoe is a descendant of Chief Her Many Horses, Red Cloud and Crazy Horse known for their heroic contributions to Native American history. Many members of his family served in the military.
