Thunderheart stars Val Kilmer (whose great grandmother is Cherokee), Sam Shepard, John Trudell, Graham Greene and Chief Ted Thin Elk. Kilmer plays a F.B.I. agent hand-picked because of his Sioux heritage to help solve a murder on a South Dakota reservation. Unbeknownst to him, his partner, a seasoned agent, has a hidden agenda which becomes the truer mystery to solve as the motives of the characters reveal corruption and violence which escalates as the story unfolds. A performance by Chief Ted Thin Elk as the elder of the tribe is not be missed. Kilmer's transformation from skeptic to believer and his revelation about his true identity make for a satisfying ending.
