Steve Rushingwood is of Cahuilla/Opata and Mexican decent and has been playing wind instruments since he was a child, so the Native American flute felt natural to him when he started playing it eight years ago. He has joined with guitarist Michael Mucklow to create a quiet album of soothing, meditative music. Both artists bring their own emotional landscape to the forefront on these evocative pieces. It includes some beautiful piano melodies and some vocalizing by Rushingwood in his native language. NAMMY nominated for Best new age Recording and Best Producer as well as a 2011 New Mexico Music Awards for Best Native American Traditional for the song "Old Chief's Pipe".
