Native American drumming legend Peter “Wyoming” Bender presents an ear-catching recording revealing several Native American drumming traditions. Bender frames the drums with flutes, chanting and keyboards to create a varied sound ranging from driving rhythms to dreamy, reflective percussion-centered songs. Bender’s inspiration is his Comanche/Lakota heritage and his involvement in the American Indian Movement as well as the natural beauty of the sound of Native drums in the canyons of the Southwest. He has already gathered a strong following through his exposure on the drumming anthology Heart, Hands and Hides. A great recording for anyone wanting a combination of drumming and chanting.
