The Brulé sound is one of the indications of this generation's interpretation of the Native expression. Although Nicole (daughter of Paul LaRoche) plays a silver flute and is classically trained her true heritage comes through in her soaring melodies. Backed by the steady rock beat of the Brulé band she is able to express all of her musical talent within a framework both familiar and adventuresome. Most tracks are fast-paced but several are anthem-like in their deliberate slowness.
