New Agency was formed in the summer of 2006 of singers from the Blackfeet Reservation. The name of the group originates from the term “agency” which referred to the meeting place of Blackfeet tribal members during the invasion of their land by white settlers. This meeting place was changed five times until its final resting point in Browning , Montana. Their lead singer is Shaylen Gopher, a direct descendant of Blackfeet Chief and camp crier, Fish Woilf Robe. Recorded at the annual Labor Day Pow wow in Puyallup, Washington.
